About Us

While working for a school district in upstate New York as a teacher and network administrator in the mid 1990s, I became aware of a need for easy-to-use transportation software. Our Transportation Supervisor had previewed many programs for maintenance, but they all were written for the trucking industry and were far more complicated than what our school needed.

As a personal challenge, I took on the project of writing a software product for our bus garage in my spare time (before having children I actually knew what that was). After a year of work, we had EasyBus™ 1.0. The intuitive interface and easy-to-use features were a hit with mechanics who had no interest in becoming software experts in order to do their jobs.

It occurred to us that other schools might have the same need that we did, and that perhaps a business could be created providing transportation departments with the software that they would write for themselves if they had the time and ability. We introduced companion programs to our suite for managing driver training, field trips, invoicing, and inventory. Our guiding philosophy has always been to stay focused on making easy-to-use software that meets the needs of the bus transportation industry.

EasyBus® reaches out to Charter and Motorcoach clients

Within a few years, many charter and motorcoach operations began to take an interest in our field trip software EasyTrip™, for managing charters. We worked very hard with these clients to make the necessary updates to the invoicing, quote, confirmation, and booking side of our software. While meeting the needs of these private companies was a new challenge for us, we found that it was very rewarding to work with people who have such an extraordinary sense of urgency in everything they do.

Online Trip Requests: The Efficiency Revolution

In 2001, we made the decision to include a web-based trip request module to our brand. We decided to take our time and develop a product that was so customizable and powerful that it would far exceed anything that we knew of on the market. When we released EasyTrip™ Request to a select group of clients, the response was fantastic. One client offered "I have been doing field trips for 20 years and I never thought anything like this was possible!" Indeed, when implemented fully, the efficiency gains of eliminating paper and phone calls from the trip request process are amazing.

Today at EasyBus®, our 10 years spent focusing on the challenges of trip and charter dispatch with hundreds of clients in North America have shaped our software solutions into powerful tools for enhancing efficiency and productivity.
